Mufasa

For the love of all things holy I can't stop hiccuping! It's so blasted annoying and it's been going on for at least 15 minutes. It's the kind of hiccuping where you feel your whole body jolt. Thank goodness I'm just home on my computer and not at work or in a meeting HA!

This morning I turned a failure into a success! When my alarm went off at 5:30am, I hit snooze...four times (don't haaate). By 6:10a.m. I thought to myself, "If you don't do cardio now, you'll regret it later. Just do it. Nike." My Sweet Man looked so peaceful lying there next to me so I did not wake him. He is the one who usually wakes me up, so for him not to get up after FOUR renditions of the "Rocky" theme, I knew he was exhausted. So, I quietly got dressed, kissed him goodbye and moseyed down the hall to my bff:

(Thank you, dear friend, for accompanying me to the gym each morning!)

I did an hour of cardio on the CrossRamp today while I finished reading Oxygen Magazine's Glutes Edition. I don't know about you, but when I lose weight my backside looks more like a ] than a ). When I step out on stage, I'd like the judges to sound a bit like:

I guess I better get to squatting, lunging and pressing. Heave ho!

I returned home from the gym starvin' like Marvin, guuuurl and prepared my breakfast as fast as I could to tame Mufasa roaring inside me. (Remember my "little lion living within me"? Well, he finally has a name.) I made my usual bowl of goodness (oatmeal made with almond milk, bee pollen and flaxseed) and made 1 egg + 3 egg whites and joined my Sweet Man at the table for breakfast. Hubbs commented on how my bowl looked really disgusting and I told him not to insult my food. It's sensitive. (Granted, he had a point. When the bee pollen granules mix with the oatmeal it does turn the oatmeal a funky interesting shade of yellow.

Well, I've finally ceased hiccuping (thank goodness, after half an hour, geez!) and I'm ready to head back to the "Testosterone Box", aka the gym weight room, and show these guys what a 5'1'' pink powerhouse can really do. I may have a pink water bottle, pink ipod, pink sports bra and pink tinted sneakers, but I lift heavy and sweat with the best of them!

Hubbs and I are off to Washington D.C. this weekend to visit friends so I won't be posting. Ya'll have a great weekend!

  1. You crack me up! Mufasa, HA!!! I have grown to love coffee throughout my bikini comp prep. I just use black coffee with the splenda flavored sweetners and they taste so good.

HA. I bet you are so cute at the gym. Those boys are probably in awe of you.

I love Oxygen magazine and that pic of Miss Jamie Eason on the front and her bootie is just awesome. My husband said "did you see that girl on the front of that?" HA!! I was like "YEA, she has an awesome bootie doesn't she?" He was drooling.
