Rip Van Winkle

Oh, Happy Day!
Hallelujah!
Yipeeee!

I actually got some sleep last night!

Yesterday evening, on the way home from our picnic dinner outing, we stopped at a gas station (the nearest "store" around) and I purchased the only sleeping aide they carried. I immediately swallowed it with the *hopes that* by the time we got home (25 mins) I'd be even a little bit sleepy. Guess what? It worked!!! By the time my head hit the pillow I was out cold. I only woke up once during the night when a friend texted me, but otherwise I stayed asleep until 5:30am when my alarm went off! 'Twas marvelous, I tell ya! I actually woke up feeling alert and ready to do the darn thing work out. With my water bottle in one hand and a cup of joe in the other, my Sleepy Man and I headed to the gym and I did an hour of cardio while he lifted weights. It felt really good! I did half an hour on the CrossRamp and another 30 minutes on the stationary bike while I read these:

I ♥love♥ Oxygen magazine and Jamie Eason (featured on the cover of this month's 'Glutes' edition) is my fitness muse! Oh.my.good.ness. She has the perfect body (in my opinion) and I double-love the fact that she's a fellow T-E-X-A-N, proud member of the Shortie club and she's Christian:) I got a lot of great tips about how to shape my derriere and I'm pumped to put them into practice in just a bit when I head back to the gym for a lower body w/o.

Breakfast was filling and fed the 'little lion living inside me' (a.k.a Hunger):

I'll have a chocolate/spinach protein shake and some complex carb when I return to refuel after kickin' my glutes. The only thing I'm not looking forward to doing is those darn plie squats. I don't know anyone who can make those look cool. Ok, ok, maybe Jamie Eason can.

Wish me luck-- Today I have a job interview! I've been looking for a part-time job just to meet people and get out more and, while it sounds interesting, I'm not sure they will allow me to only work during the weekday hours (8-5ish). I'm not willing to work nights or weekends because I cherish that time with my husband, so we'll see how this pans out. I have nothing to lose by interviewing and won't be heartbroken if it doesn't work out, but it would be cool if it did!

1) What fitness/health magazines do you like?
2) Who is your fitness muse?
