I just mailed my registration and competition fees to compete next month! EEP! No turning back now!
I did the stair-mill and upright bike for 50 minutes at a moderate pace early this morning and my knee has felt inflamed since then:( Boooo! Now is not the time to injure myself (well, no time is, really). I've decided to rest for the remainder of the day and will just alter my training schedule this week to account for switching rest days. I just need to listen to my body and my body is telling me- in quite an achy way- that I need to R-E-S-T and take it easy. So. I. Am.
I'm gonna park myself on the couch and catch up on last week's "Days of Our Lives" episodes and chug my gallon water bottle. I've been icing and elevating my knee and hope to get a late afternoon nap in, too. Yeah, it's totally gonna happen. I didn't sleep a wink last night (sigh) and have had a "not-enough-sleep"-induced headache all day. It will be a sweet escape to channel my inner toddler and experience naptime again:)
Hopefully tomorrow I'll be ready to roll. As for now, it's time for siesta!
