Overall, I am SO proud of myself for resisting any/all temptations, working out almost every day that I was there and for sticking to my meal plans. I got up every single morning to do cardio and either went to my parents' gym or took the pups on a run/walk around the neighborhood with the most outrageous hills. Seriously, my Polar HRM was definitely screaming at me at times since the inclines got a bit intense. I took Pete E. and Mattie Rose on two different days, but got a much harder workout taking Pete E. since he pulled me the entire way. Sheesh! Jack Russells are known for
Speaking of Jack Russell Terriers, check out this video:
This dog is the only dog for me-- quirky, feisty and high energy!!
The only thing that I would have changed regarding my diet/exercise plan was that I don't think I ate enough. DOH! I have a set meal plan I follow, but it's just a bit harder preparing your meals when you're away from home and on the go and don't really have much of a schedule. I did my best to anticipate when I'd be away for longer than 2 hours so I could pack my snacks and lunch, but unfortunately, there were times I went longer than 3 hours without eating and didn't get all my calories in:( I certainly didn't mean to eat less and am not happy about it, but it just happened and I actually feel bad for my body because I know it NEEDS sustenance to fuel my intense workouts. Ah well, I will make up for it this week:)
On a positive note, I drank more water last week than I have all other competition prep weeks! I just bought a gallon on water and made sure I finished it by the end of the day. There's something about seeing how much more water I need to drink in a day that motivates me to finish it. Now, I am not an advocate of using plastic water bottles (booo!) and typically refill my stainless steel, BPA-free water bottle 5 times a day, but I really liked just carrying around one gallon with me all day and drinking it here and there. Not sure what I'm going to do about that.
Some interesting things regarding my comp diet:
1) I'm down 2.4 lbs since last Monday and when my Hunk picked me up from the airport he commented on how I look smaller in just the week I was away in Texas. SCORE! I now only have 16 lbs to go to my competition goal weight. However, when I see how much leaner I am than where I started, I'm wondering if that is an unrealistic goal and perhaps 10 lbs is all I have left. We'll just have to see the closer it gets to competition! In any case, it's exciting to say "SEE YA" to those 2.4 lbs that are never welcome back on my body ever again! Hmmph! (ok, ok, when I'm pregnant the 2.4 lbs may return, but only for 9 months!:)
2) Since my competition prep began, I've gotten a FREE breast reduction. Yep, you heard me! I mentioned in my first post how I wanted a breast reduction so badly, however I was scared to go under the knife (not to mention it's expensive!).Turns out, I no longer need one and may even now fit into "regular" bras from Victoria's Secret (Shhhhh!) I've leaned out so much...ahem, cough, cough...even there! Seriously, I am amazed at how much my boobs have shrunk and I'm probably just about the ONLY girl who is THRILLED to see a decrease in mypitcher cup size! I pay upwards of $90 each for my bras at Nordstrom's because they are the only ones that carry my size and that fit decently and now my bras look like tee-pees on me HAHA! I wonder how much more they will shrink...hmm. Don't get me wrong, I still have BIG boobs, but holy geez they don't look ginormous anymore. (Sorry, Hubby! HAHA!)
3) My competition heels arrived!!!

I am so excited my "glass slippers" are in! I tried them on yesterday first thing when I got home from the airport and walked around my living room. Mikey Hubby likes! He says they are "hot" on me. It's amazing how flippin' TALL I am in these! Seriously, I now see what the rest of the world sees instead of always looking up since I'm a Hobbit. HAHA! Man, I'm going to practice in these as often as I can to be sure I feel super confident and comfortable walking in them. Speaking of comfortable, these are WAY comfortable and I was even surprised by the nice cushioned sole. SCORE!
I hope you all are having a great week! It's good to be back! I'm excited tomorrow is FRIDAY and then it's Labor Day weekend! TTY tomorow! :)
Question:
1) Do you know any Jack Russell terriers like the dog in the video? If not, do you have a dog with as much energy? My parents have THREE and they are definitely a handful, but I ♥ them and think they are the most fun and adorable dogs ever! I can't wait to get one (hint, hint...aw, come on', Hubbs, buy me one already! I promise to train it!!!)
2) Have you received anything FUN in the mail this week?
