Well, least least I feel like it, thanks to my high-carb day. Oy! Eating an entire cup of oatmeal (which we all know expands when cooked) is tough for me to swallow- literally- and I seem to have to force feed myself on these days. Truth be told, I've never met my calorie goals on this higher-calorie day. I feel like I'm "expecting" on high-carb days because my stomach gets so full and bloated. What can I say, my body just does much better on moderate-to-lower carbs. Ah well, my refeed is only once a week. I can do this!!!
Do you remember this children's book growing up? It's about this boy who is having the worst day ever, beginning with getting gum stuck in his hair upon waking. This book reminds me a bit of how my morning is going. I woke up this morning with a massive headache, accompanied by a sore jaw, (wth?!) and sinus pressure. Not to mention Mother Nature is using southwestern PA as a spittoon and it's been dreary, wet and cold all morning. sigh.
Since Hubbs and I were supposed to get our blood drawn this morning (yippee, right?), we had to begin fasting at around 8pm last night. Not fun. Mufasa was roaring and growling inside me and I just wanted to get my bloodwork over with so I could tame the beast and eat breakfast. Well, turns out, yours truly got the venue completely wrong and we drove around for half an hour trying to find out where the HealthCheck Blood Screening was taking place. I was uber-frustrated to learn that it was not taking place where I thought it was and instead 10 miles away...in morning traffic. sigh. We scrapped our plans to get our $25 blood screening today and decided to grab some breakfast instead.
At this point, yours truly thought it would be a brilliant idea to take my thermogenic pill (it says to take on empty stomach) without water. I gave it a good college try and after about 4-5 attempts I managed to swallow it without water. FAIL. It got lodged in my throat and actually hurt a little. I was certainly miffed.
Since Hubby had to get to work and we took one car, we decided to stop at Bruegger's Bagels so he could get breakfast and I could get a coffee. Afterward I would just drop him off at work and them pick him up for lunch later so he could get his car. While we were in Bruegger's, I ordered the Pumpkin Spice coffee and was so excited that I thought I'd take a picture of me snuggling up to my cup o' goodness. FAIL. I dropped my camera and it broke. Awesome....sigh.
R.I.P Olympus
I suppose the good news is that when my sweet husband saw my face when I peeled my camera up off the floor, he knew I was upset and told me in the car that we could look into budgeting for a nice camera since now we don't have one. I immediately perked up and, truth me bold, was kinda glad the stupid thing died...cuz now we'll get a really nice DSLR! Yipeeeeeee! ;)So, despite my < (less than) morning, I'm deciding right now to make it a great day and just "roll with the punches". I have my health, my family, a warm, comfy home, plenty of food to eat (CARBS!), fresh, clean water to drink/shower and my freedom. Life's lookin' pretty good right now:)
Question:
1) What kind of camera do you have and would you recommend it?
2) What are you thankful for today?

I feel the same way with higher carb days! I'm not exactly carb cycling though- are you doing a certain carb cycling diet? I'd love to hear more about it!
ReplyDeleteHATE fasting! I was a bit hypoglycemic last time I did it and food couldn't get to me quick enough! LOL
I have a canon SD 780 and I love it! But I would also love to have A professional canon with different lenses ($$$). I am lovin the Alanis Morisette reference. I love her! I have read that book...and had those days
ReplyDeletehey love!! oh my gosh MUST MUST MUSTTTTTTTT get caught up on your blog!!!! I have missed you!
ReplyDeleteI've been a lurker for a while now so I'll start by saying I've really been enjoying reading your blog :) Sorry about the camera, it sucks when things die (but yay for getting new stuff ;)).
ReplyDeleteI have a DSLR and I'll be honest with you, they're awesome, they can take incredible pictures (if you ever learn how to use it properly, although the auto function is pretty great) and they're HEAVY. You'll probably want a little point and shoot as well because there's loads of places I go where I still take mine (even though it's not that great anymore, having kilo's of camera stuck around your neck isn't very comfortable and means that you spend the whole time worrying about where the camera is dangling instead of having fun).
Enjoy the camera hunting :)
