Heart in a Blender

Hi blog friends!

Gosh, I can't believe I haven't blogged since last Wednesday! DOH! I really, really enjoy blogging and want to at least blog every other day, but L-I-F-E got in the way and I find that a perfectly valid (and healthy!) excuse for staying away from the keyboard, don't you? :)

This past weekend my Darlin' and I headed to Catawba Island to visit with my in-lawsloves at my hubby's aunt's condo right on the water. It was so so so gorgeous! Her backyard faces the marina with all the sailboats and yachts and it was just beautiful up there. Here's a pic of our view as we ate dinner at the clubhouse right across the street from her house:
Pretty nice dinner view, eh? We watched the sunset right from our table. The only reason we didn't sit outside was because it was SUPER windy, but this was the next best thing! Oh, and we drove to the club in this:

Hubby's aunt is over 70 and has a golfcart with spinners. Yes, you heard me, s-p-i-n-n-e-r-s! Wha, whaaat?! BAHAHA! We were laughing so hard. Hubbs tried to act "gangsta" in the cart, but he's the whitest white boy ever so he looks more like Zoolander than anything HAHA! I took a video of our golf cart adventure to the clubhouse across the street, but sadly the wind was blowing so heavily that it interferes with all the audio so I'm not going to post it. Just picture us cracking up as we haul-A at 20 miles an hour in a golf cart with spinners. Hubbs and his shawty...

We had a very relaxing/chill weekend in Catawba and I can say that I ate "spot-on" the entire weekend, especially since I packed an arsenal of snacks and food before we left. I did not workout, however, but I don't feel guilty one bit because I was due for a mini-break. I took Saturday and Sunday "off" and feel better because of it and ready to hit it hard this week:)

Oh, and one of my new favorite drinks is:

While driving around the island we stopped in the grocery store so I could play "squirrel" and collect my nuts eats for the day and I almost grabbed a Diet Coke until I saw this bad boy lookin' mighty lonesome. The thought of a root beer sounded SO good since I haven't had one in ages. Here I am cheesin' it up in the car as we drove around the island. Diet A&W Root Beer...good stuff! :)

After Mass on Sunday morning, we went to a local diner for brunch with my in-laws and Aunt Rosemary. We were in a bit of a time crunch, though, because we needed to get back on the road since my Hunk had a soccer game at 4pm, so we just ordered coffee and skipped out on brunch. Good thing, too, because there was NOTHING on the menu I could eat. Plus, the smell of french toast, pancakes and bacon was killin' me. I just sipped on my dirt water black coffee until we escaped so I could just drink my protein shake and eat my almonds in the car.

*SIDE NOTE*It will be SO nice once I can actually enjoy a meal with my family and friends again without scrutinizing everything I put in my mouth. It's starting to get old and I feel like I'm not really "in" the moment during mealtimes, since I'm so preoccupied with wondering how the quality/calorie count affects my daily goals. I'm ready for balance and to go back to my Body-for-Life/Eat Clean-type diet again. sigh.

We made it to the soccer game just in time and I cheered my Hubby on as he played:

I took this pic with my cell phone since I still don't have a camera, but my #1 man is in the blue on the far right of the screen. They lost their game, but he is a winner with me:)

Ok, for some bikini news:

1) My swimsuit has arrived, but was only able to stay a few days! I received this package (a little bigger than the size of my palm) on my doorstep last Wednesday and was curious what it could be. Then I opened it and realized it was my swimsuit.

GULP! It is so so so tiny! I just about had a panic attack thinking of trying it on. It looked like it was made for Barbie. As in, the doll. Eep! I tried it on and the bottoms are do-able (though I definitely need to lean out my lower half), but the top! Oh my goodness, that top! It barely covers 1/4 of my girls! The top comes in one size. C-cup. Folks, I.am.not.a.C.cup. When Hubbs came home I tried it on for him and he agreed that it was wayyyyy too small and that he was not comfortable with his wife letting that much skin show. He wants to be the only guy who sees that much skin and I agree:) I went ahead and called the store and custom-ordered a new one with a size DD top. Hopefully, that will do. What makes the most difference in swimsuit size is that my boobs are natural, meaning they have a mind of their own. As I lose bodyfat, they are kinda "doin' their own thang" which means they don't really stay put. I need a swimsuit top that will cover them up as much as possible and keep 'em in line, ya know? SO, hopefully when my custom suit comes next month, I'll be happy as a clam and ready to strut it without any "wardrobe malfunctions"...

2) Remember how my camera died? Well, guess what other near-and-dear-to-my- heart item perished?
My Magic Bullet!!! Nooooooooooooooooooooooooo! Words cannot express how sad I was when my dear friend gave it's final grind:( I used my MB multiple times every day to make my shakes and now it is gone and I'm back to using this beast:

Boring 'ol Blender. It's just so big and bulky and you can't just drink right from the cup like you do a Magic Bullet. At least, it's not that comfortable doing so:

I think I am just going to have to go out and buy another MB. I just don't see how my Blender and I can carry on this way.

Dear Blender: "It's not me, it's you. I'm so sorry, but I'd like to see other people mixers."

I hope you are all having a great day and, if not, I hope it gets 100x's better!

QUESTION:

1) What is your most favorite kitchen appliance that you use everyday? Magic Bullet forever!!!

2) What is your favorite type of carbonated beverage? I used to love Diet Coke and drink 1-2 every.single.day, but I think I'm sick of it. Gasp! I really enjoyed the diet root beer and have a feeling it will sticking around for a while:)

  1. I actually prefer my big blender as to my magic bullet- the MB does blend it up that good! Plus my shakes are as big as the big blender. LOL!!

And oh no to your top!! At least they will be able to customize it for ya. And you know most girls are probably jealous that your top is too small-not to big like it would be for me! ha!!

  2. Sorry for your loss :( (MB)

My most used small appliance is my blender. Lots of Green Monsters in this house

  3. NOT the magic bullet...may it rest in peace. I use mine daily also and I am sure in the near future it will quit on me. I will have to go and get a new one b/c i use it that much. I can't live without it.

I don't blame you on the top at all. You do not want to feel uncomfortable. I wore a D cup in mine and it worked great and I totally felt comfortable. Hopefully, the DD cup will work for you. I can't wait to see you in it. I can see how small you are getting in your face shots.

I never drink root beer either but it sounds kind of good now that you mention it.

Keep up the hard work and dedication. It is paying off and you WILL NOT REGRET DOING THIS!!!

  5. Oh my goodness... what an exciting, amazing, relaxing, and very very sad week you have had (losing two of the things most competitors cannot live without, camera and the bullet). Sigh. Guess it could be worse huh?

I haven't tried the Diet RB, but now that you mention it... I might have to :) My weakness and what I have to have one of everyday is Sugar Free Rockstar! I gave up my diet coke though ;) That has to make it okay right?

I totally know how you are feeling about the wanting to just be able to go out and eat a meal without analyzing it. After over a year of competing that is exactly what I wanted.. scratch that... NEEDED to do. Although now I am ready (or not really ready but know I need to) get myself back on track. I have a little more junk in my trunk than I would like to, LOL. When your kids are telling you that you need to go to the gym because your arms are "squishy" (I wanted to die)... you know it is time! Break over!

Hope your DD top fits your girls, I cannot wait to see this suit you keep talking about!

  6. I had a magic bullet blender knock off. It did 5 years of hard work before it finally carked it (the motor was still fine, one of the bases stopped spinning though and was worth almost as much as a replacement). Our kitchen was just awful without it so another was bought quick smart! (Another knock off :P) so I empathize with your plight :(

As for fizzies. I don't really drink fizzy drink much. Lipton iced tea makes me cave each and every time though!
