This morning I woke up and headed to the gym to exercise my body. After that, Hubbs and I headed to Mass (church) to exercise our souls. Directly after that, we headed to our local polling place to exercise our right to vote! It felt good to press that 'Vote' button. I'm thankful I live in a country where I have a voice. If you haven't voted today (and are able to) I highly encourage you do!
Guess what I got in the mail?!
INSANITY!!! I won Lisa's (I'm An Okie) giveaway a few weeks ago and am so so so excited! It's funny because that morning (before Lisa even posted her giveaway) I was telling Hubbs that I really wanted to order the Insanity DVDs. I suppose it's meant to be, because here it is in my living room, staring me in the face! (I even think I heard it growl...it's just trying to scare me, that's all!)
Along with the awesome DVD set, I got a sweet card from loveable Lisa! Thank you so so so much for the kind words! Texas-sized hugs to you, darlin'! *Sidenote- you should all check out Lisa's blog if you haven't already. Lisa talks about all sorts of topics and always keeps it real, fresh and honest.*
I realize that the Insanity workouts are i-n-t-e-n-s-e, but I'm all about intensity so bring it on! I even asked Hubby if he'd do it with me and he said he would....Poor, unsuspecting Hubbs ;)
FACEBOOK
Since starting my blog using Blogger, instead of of heeding 'Oh Wise Janetha's' (Meals and Moves) advice to go with Wordpress (DOH!), I've been really bummed that I can't interact as much as I'd like with readers. Unlike Wordpress, I can't reply to comments or e-mail readers with a response or acknowledgement of their comment and that bugs me. I read and cherish every single comment and would love more interaction with a) frequent readers, b) those who pop in from time to time or c) first time visitors.
That being said, I started a Facebook page and am hoping it can serve as an easier way to connect with readers. I just created it this morning and if you click on my FB icon on the right --->, you can press 'Like' and join! Please bare with me as I'm still workin' on adding things, but I definitely love meeting new friends from all over and thought it'd be fun to start a Texas Gunslinger Facebook Page! Pow! Pow!
Speaking of firing off "guns", here's a sneak peak of my progress to date. Here I am au natural (hey, I'm keepin' it real, folks) getting ready to hit the gym for Back/Biceps. I feel good today and ready to increase my reps on that darn Wide-Grip Pull-Up Machine. It feels good to every so often decrease the assisted weight. It's kinda like riding a bike with training wheels. One of these days (I'll say within the next 3-4 months???) I'm going to release those training wheels and do UN-assisted pull-ups. Just you wait! :)

Lastly, my Sweet One and I met up with some friends last Friday for a Kutless concert. If you ever listen to KLOVE, they sing 'Strong Tower', 'Sea of Faces' (my fav!), 'What Faith Can Do', etc. The band, Sidewalk Prophets, opened for Kutless and they were really good, too! I leave you with one of their songs, which really hits home to me as of late. If you want to, take a minute to listen. It's an encouraging and "feel good" song:)
Be back lata, gata!
Questions:
1) Have you gone Insane? (meaning, have you done the Insanity workouts and if so, tell me your honest opinion of it!)

First of all - I LOVE this song. It was a great reminder to start my morning with, so thanks for that :)
ReplyDeleteNever tried Insanity...probably never will :/ Actually, I shouldn't say that because I'll try just about anything once, but it doesn't look like my cup of tea. But hey - never say never, right? :)
