I don't have much time to post, but had a few things to mention...
First off, thanks to those who joined my Texas Gunslinger Facebook Page! So happy to see ya there and hopefully it will allow for greater interaction. I'll be working on streaming my blog through there (as soon as I figure out how to do it) and jazzin' it up a bit when I can. Right now it's kinda bare bones...
Second, I installed Intense Debate (thanks to Averie of Love Veggies and Yoga) which *hopefully* will allow me to respond to comments. We'll see how that goes!
Third, I tried Insanity today for the
Dear Jesus, Mary and Joseph, I lasted all of 10 minutes. 10 minutes!!! And that was only the Fit Test! I feel like such a poser! I've been doing interval sprints running at 9 and 10mph for the past few months and frequently incorporate plyo exercises in my training, yet I only lasted 10 flippin' minutes doing just the Fit Test of Insanity! What the flip is going on?!?!?
I don't know what the heck happened, but right at about 10 minutes into the workout I started cramping up soooo badly. Ya'll it felt like I had the WORST menstrual cramps imaginable and I was doubled over in pain and felt sick to my stomach. My quads were cramping, too, and it took about 10 more minutes just for the cramping to go away. Ya'll, I don't even know what to think.
Am I going to still do Insanity? You betcha I am! Call me a glutton for punishment, but I love a good challenge and I am going to do this. If I have any chance of succeeding in Fitness next Spring, I'm going to need to 'go a little Insane' to condition my body for the hard, intense routines these gals perform on stage.
I don't know if it was just a fluke thing today or if I was dehydrated or if I needed to eat sooner or yada yada yada, but I'm going to try Insanity again soon. I just refuse to accept that I "cannot" do something. This entire journey has taught me that if I just push harder, I can achieve my goals. If others can do it, then so can I...just not today apparently DOH!
...Sigh...
For those of you who have done Insanity and mastered it, I applaud you because you're awesome!
Before I go, I just thought I'd leave a you with a dieting tip. When you cannot eat sweets, it's probably not a good idea to buy Mint Chocolate Chip air fresheners and place them throughout your house. I swear, each and every time I go into my bedroom, it smells so yumtastic and makes me crave ice cream...
I got these wallflowers at Bath and Body Works and truly have never smelled anything quite so divine. Perhaps I should have waited until after November 20th before I pumped my house full of scents that make me want to lick wall sockets. Ah, well...
I'll be back tomorrow! I've snapped lots of pics to share!
♥,Talia
Question:
1) What exercise/program do you find particularly challenging? I'm used to doing HIITs and getting my heart rate to near exploding (or else it feels like it!), but I am disappointed that today was just not my day when it came to max-interval training. Hopefully, that was just a one-time thing, but I'm not going to let that defeat my spirit! Shaun T, I'll show you whose boss next time! Hoo-rah!!!!
2) What is your current/favorite home fragrance? I love anything that smells like baked goods and let me tell you, this Mint Chocolate holiday wallflower at BBW is amazing! Go buy it...now...like, right now... ;)

You are in such good shape I am sure it was just a fluke. Don't worry about it too much!!
ReplyDeleteI find cardio in general hard for me now, especially mentally because I get so bored!
Insanity.... says it all. I never did the fit test, maybe that is harder than the actual workouts? The only ones I have tried was the Plyo's and the Shoulder workouts (which by the way dang near killed me) and the Plyo's was out of this world hard. I made it through... barely... and I had to rest a few times. No worries, just keep at it, you were probably just having an "off" day. I bet next time it will be a breeze :)
ReplyDeleteI love Scentsy!!!! My favorite scent right now is Eskimo kisses... but I love the baked goods ones too :)
I think it was just a fluke. I consider you to be in better shape than I and have been doing more intense workouts than I've bene doing and I could do it--albeit, it was hard but it was done. Now, sometimes, I took longer of a break then they did, but that's ok about in my opinion.
ReplyDeleteTry the fit test again in a day or two :) youll be fine!~
yeah, sounds like it was a fluke to me!!!
ReplyDeletenow youve got me wanting me to try this insanity business!!!
the workouts i find challenging:
plyos!
AND i am a scent candle nut btw!!! my fav is "pumpkin spice" right night-or "warm cinnamon rolls" and YES ive had these things going full steam during conntest prep before and it is sooooooo wrong! LOL!!!
just hang in there girlie!!!
:)
If you read the insert Insanity gives you it tells you specifically NOT to do Insanity on a low calorie/low carb diet. Your body just doesn't have the fuel sources to push you through! I would wait until after your show to really get into these workouts because I can tell you from experience, Insanity+low carb=passing out. Seriously! Be careful girlie!
ReplyDeletealright well I did the ENTIRE insanity program and i would DEF not recommend following the schedule meaning doing it everyday...i ended up wrecking my ankles, feet and had to buy new sneakers JUST for insanity. It is a fun workout, but I think it should be supplemented maybe 2 times a week? def not everyday. It is so tough on the body!
ReplyDeleteI just bought a pumpkin pie spice candle and LOVE it! i take it with me all around my house so whereever I sit, i want the candle right next to me so I can smell it! lol
