As I write this I'm sitting on my giant blueberry and have to say, I'm really starting to like it! Last night I rolled my big blue ball into the living room to watch a movie with Hubbs, but just sitting on it got old fast so I decided to do a few wall squats, ab crunches and bridges while the movie was on. Great use of my idle time, if I do say so myself!
So, as part of my competition diet I'm doing a bit of carb cycling. Today is my high-carb day and I look as though I should be printing out baby shower announcements. My food baby is starting to show. Ughh. And, I feel like this
I'm ecstatic to enjoy my fabulous bowl of goodness each and every single morning, but that's it. Having oatmeal multiple times throughout the day is not making me a very happy camper. I guess it's safe to say carbs have this effect on me. I look like I've got a carbalicious bun in the oven. sigh. Luckily, this high-carb day is only one of seven. (Hmm, maybe I should go grocery shopping on these days so I can park in the "expectant moms" parking spot near the entrance...." I kid. I kid.
Well, for some exciting news (it is to me anyway)- I got my NPC card in the mail! YAY! That means I'm able to compete. At least until December 31 ,2010 when it expires. It's too bad the membership doesn't last an entire calendar year. Come January I'll have to pay another $90 for a new card. Oh well, at least I've got mine and can check it off 'The List'.
In my first blog post I wrote about my love for writing lists. Well, this week I started a Word document listing all the things I need to do (other than drop bodyfat, of course!) to prepare for the show. Here's what I have so far:
- Buy bikini
Order heelsOrder tanning lotionRegister NPC card- Teeth bleached (I already have pretty white teeth but they can always sparkle more!)
- Bikini wax (Nooo, Kelly Clarkson!)
- Mani/pedi
- Hair color retouched
- Bikini glue
Can you tell I am really really excited! Even though the competition is 3-months out, I went ahead and started getting things together for several reasons. 1) I want this really badly and purchasing what I need makes it that much more real, 2) I didn't know how long it would take to get the heels and tanning lotion after ordering and would rather just not worry about them later, and 3) because I probably NEED 3 months of practicing in 5" heels! HA! All my life I've been sort of a klutz and I want to practice a lot on carpet so that when I'm walking on stage there will be no surprises! Not to mention, I've always been curious what goes on "up there". You know, being a Hobbit and all:)
I've even been putting together a folder for a few weeks now to include several calendars to keep track of my training days and log what I do for the day, as well as hold the NPC Bikini Rules and Regulations, as well as contest fliers for shows I would like to do. (Shout out to Naomi from One Fit Foodie, who I read today is also getting organized with a folder for her first figure show! Go newbies!)
***For you fabulous veterans of the stage, if there is anything I'm missing (and there probably is) please feel free to pipe up. I can use all the help I can get!
Oh, and remember when I posted the pic of this girl:
Well, I found out her name via Google: Leigh Brandt. She is Canada's first IFBB Bikini Pro! H-o-l-y g-e-e-z! Her body is just so bodacious! Totally worth posting again! Where can I get a body like that? (I know, I know- in the gym or in my dreams HA!)
Well, time to force feed eat again. I can't wait until tomorrow to go back to a more moderate carb day. I don't like feeling like my belly is stretched. Especially since I'm drinking (or trying to drink) a gallon of water on top of it! Anyway, I putzed around the house too much today and now have to do my Chest/Abs workout tonight. I'm going to wait a bit so that I don't hit the testosterone rush HA! I guess it works out OK, though, because my Italian Hunk is off at a dinner meeting so it's not as if I'm not spending time with my sweet, handsome one. Gosh, I love that man! And, you know what? I think he loves me, too:)
Well, time to

I know what you mean about food babies! That's me 24/7! LOL Ah heels and me are not friends either.. I avoid them at all costs!
ReplyDeleteI think you are way more organized than I have EVER been with competing :) Nice job... my advice is practice practice practice. Those heels are brutal. Wear them around the house so that they feel like slippers. Also when you are ready to pack for "backstage" stuff let me know... I have lots of suggestions of stuff to bring that I have learned over the last year. :) Your going to do amazing, you are a beautiful girl!
ReplyDeleteaww thank you girl!! love the shout out :) and love the organized folder...WOOOOO you are going to ROCK your show, then tell me all about it LOL
