It's FRIDAY! My very favorite day of the week! Fridays remind me of grade school when I'd get to go to/have a sleepover with friends after school and how all day I would be so so so excited! School lunches were always the yummiest on Fridays (including my lunch box) and teachers were a little more relaxed. School assemblies and/or talent shows were on Fridays and I just remember there being a feeling of excitement in the air! I still feel that every single Friday!
Oh, wait! It's Friday the 13th...

Scaryyyyyyyy...(pfft, nah, it's just another Friday...which means it's a great day!!! YAY!!!
So, a few things:
1) Applying self-tanner
2) Don't challenge your husband to a "plank off" if you don't think you can win. Last night before bed, I was talking to Hubbs about my ab exercises for the day and how I kind of did a circuit-type ab workout, rotating exercises without a break. Thrown in the exercises were 30-second intervals of holding plank.I can do over a minute at a time, but for the purpose of yesterday's workout I only held it for 30 seconds before moving on to the next exercise. Anyway, last night I challenged my Italian Stallion to a "plank off". FAIL. I don't know if I was just so worn out from the day's workouts (surely that's the reason!) but I bottomed out long before he did:( Ah, well, it was still fun since we were also trying not to make the other laugh while holding plank, which is quite difficult!)
Also, last night I wanted to see how many push-ups I could do. I had it in my head that I would probably only be able to do a set
3) This morning I ate THE best breakfast I've ever eaten (well, since yesterday anyway)! I do not have a photo because when you are eating something THAT GOOD, you think only of yourself and the ridiculously decadent bowl of goodness before you. Seriously, my oatmeal this morning was delivered directly from Heaven. (Remind me to send Cherubim and Seraphim a 'thank you' note.) I prepared my oatmeal as usual and was divinely inspired to add a splash or raspberry SF syrup and 1/2 a tablespoon of SF Cheesecake Jello Pudding mix. It was 'Amen! Hallelujah! Can I get a witness?' good! I swear I thought I was eating cotton candy sprinkled with Creme de Angel or something. Oh, such joy! As I took my final bite, I
swear I heard this sound in the distance:
Well, I'm off. I'm going to
Questions:
1) Have you tried or cooked something this week that was absolutely "Amen! Hallelujah! Can I get a witness?" good?
2) Have you had any mishaps with self tanner?
ahh! Ive done that with self tanner--its so dang tricky.
ReplyDeleteand I love challenging myself with pushups! just telling myself i could never do X number and then blowing it out of the water.
My chicken soft tacos (Which you need to make int eh crock pot), meatloaf and egg muffins were all amazing!
Amen sista!! No Friday the 13th can scare me!
ReplyDeleteYes, I've done self tanner before bed...NOT GOOD withwhite sheets.. haha!
Also, plank offs, been there. Tied with the hubs. :)
your breakfast looks deelish girl. You go. And I think its funny you guys do the 'plank off' - we do that too. I havent' really cooked anything that great - but try this:
ReplyDelete1/4 cup oatmeal
1 scoop protein powder (I love MG Cake Batter)
1/4 cup egg whites
1 tbsp cocunut flour (or other flour)
2 tbsp unsweetened almond milk
2 tbsp water
pinch of cream of tartar and pinch of baking powder
mix well and cook like a pancake. top with SF syrup and cinnamon. I adapted from an Alyson recipe. SO GOOD!!!
mmm well my oatmeal and eggwhites with blueberries is ALWAYS AMEN amazing!! i look forward toit every single morning!
ReplyDeletehahah thats funny about the plank off. I did something similar with my BF...and although he is much stronger than me (genereally) I have a MUCH stronger core, so I knew I would win this one :) and I did!! I am def going to see how many push ups i can do when I am not sore though! (yesterday was chest and tricep yikessss I am sore!)
Have a great weekend girl!!!
I am going to have to try a plank off with my husband ;) I will let you know how it goes. The one thing that I HAD to eat every morning is my Protein Pancakes... for a while I was adding the sugar free jello (cheesecake as well) mix into them and they were INCREDIBLE.
ReplyDelete1/3 C Oatmeal
2/3 C water
heat in microwave for one minute or until thick than add
1-2 egg whites
1 scoop protein powder (I like vanilla)
1-2 tsp pudding mix
1/8-1/4 tsp baking powder
If its too thick you can thin it out a bit with some almond breeze or your choice of liquid.
Mix well and cook in pan like pancakes. I usually got 3-4 nice sized pancakes out of this and I used Sugar free syrup and my spray butter on them. SOOOOOO goooood.
Keep it up girl.. you are well on your way. You look incredible already. Just remember for bikini its more about showing your personality and having fun. The judges are looking for that!
Hey! I just found your blog! I'm a die-hard Texan and fitness/good eats enthusiast, so I'm dying to read more.
